Providing Forensic Nursing Services
Rachel Countryman is a highly experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with over 30 years of experience in the medical field providing forensic nursing services, including expert review and consultation, written reports, expert testimony, trial support, and trial questions.
Expert Consultation & Review
Each case begins with an expert review and consultation. This includes a detailed medical records review and evaluation of any discovery materials provided. After the review is complete, a phone consultation is scheduled to discuss the findings, clarify key issues, and address any questions.
During this discussion, the expert will outline objective opinions based on the evidence and recommend the appropriate next steps, such as a written report, trial support, testimony, or assistance with specific case-related questions. The goal is to ensure the attorney has a clear, evidence-based understanding of the medical components relevant to the case.
Written Report
As expert witnesses, we are frequently asked to provide written reports that summarize our analysis and professional opinions. Our reports are prepared with meticulous attention to accuracy, clarity, and evidence-based conclusions. Each report includes a review of pertinent medical records and any other relevant documentation to support an objective, defensible opinion.
Expert Witness Testimony
Our expert witness services provide essential support for legal proceedings by offering specialized knowledge and opinions that help the court understand complex matters. We employ experts with extensive experience and qualifications in their respective fields. Their role is to provide impartial analysis and opinions based on scientifically proven research and professional expertise, ensuring the highest level of objectivity and trust in our services.
Trial Support
Our trial support services provide immediate access to a medical professional at any case stage, including attending the trial in person or virtually. Our nurses offer real-time support with questions and can help redirect the line of questioning, providing reassurance and security throughout the trial. They can also offer comments and recommended questions for cross-examination electronically in real time, ensuring a cost-effective solution.
Trial Questions
If live trial support isn’t available, our skilled nurses can provide direct or cross-examination trial questions to help prepare your witness or anticipate the opposing counsel’s cross-examination. They are experienced in extracting information from experts and can help the attorney prepare for expected rebuttals by providing credible sources.
Expert Witness Services
We will search for professionals who specialize in the specific area relevant to your case, considering their location, costs, and availability for the trial date. A nurse will then conduct a preliminary assessment of each expert, briefly discussing the case’s facts. Following this, the nurse will provide a detailed letter summarizing their impressions and recommendations regarding which expert they believe would best fit the case’s needs.
